Rikcat - The Art of Rik Catlow

I’ve made available a digital piece called Digital Messin I did this week as a poster on Cafe Press. I’m not totally sure of the quality of the printing but Cafepress seems to be quite popular so I decided to give it a try. Here is a nice clear uncompressed version of the piece on Flickr.

I’ve added two new paintings to the store. Both are 4″x4″ on canvas, one is called “Red Skully” and the other “Blue Skully”.

I’ve found these three interesting books on Amazon about the designer toy craze. I added these to my recommended books. I’m going to purchase all three very soon. I Am Plastic: The Designer Toy Explosion, Dot Dot Dash!: Designer Toys, Action Figures And Character Art, and MTV Overground : Toys.

I’m currently teaching myself the programming language PHP. I’ve been tinkering with it for years but I’m finally learning the ins and outs, so I can build my own web apps. I’ve also been fooling around with this Google Map API class that I’ve found. So I put together this mashup with my sold painting locations and Google Map. It just tracks by zipcode not by address to protect the buyers address information.

I’ve printed t-shirts! The shirts are printed on high quality American Apparel t-shirts in a beautiful slate color with darker gray ink. They’re available in my store section in M,L, and XL. Also I’ve added a couple of new pieces to the store today.

On November 15, I will be giving away
this free painting to a randomly selected confirmed mailing list subscriber. If you are not a subscriber, sign up to be eligible to win the free painting. The winner will be notified on November 16 and must reply by November 20, or else a new winner will be selected.

I’ve added a new smashed can painting called “Accomplish” to the store. Also i’ve cleaned out all the sold work.

UPDATE: Thinkspace has also posted photos from the opening. Looks like my two pieces have red dots on them indicating they were sold. They have also posted work that is still available to purchase.

Juxtapoz has posted photos from the Picks of the Harvest: Batch Three show that debuted on Friday, September 8th at Thinkspace Gallery in Los Angeles. There are over 110 artists in the show, all hand picked by Shawn and Andy Hosner.

I’ve updated the store with three new additions. Sup! is a piece that was done on illustration board and it has a nice white matt and frame. Also added is a canvas piece called Blue and a smashed beverage can called Debriefing.
